Introduction
One of Adelaide’s most famous venues, the Adelaide Zoo is home to more than 2,5k animals from 250 species of mammals, insects, birds, reptiles and fish that are penned on the exquisite gardens of the 8 ha. It is secondly the oldest zoo in the country and not to forget plays a significant role in the countries’ heritage and social history From the past 138 years, when Adelaide Zoo started admitting visitors, families from this state have been a witness to the magnificent experience in beating the park.
Subsequently, It’s a relaxing green city haven and vibrant sanctuary that gives you the very good feeling of stepping into another world. Therefore, It’s full of diversity, colour and unique things to see and do. Hence, it offers an intimate zoo experience speckled with the elements of curiosity, fantasy, fun and surprises.
Membership and Tickets at Adelaide Zoo
There are many more experiences available and you can also purchase entry tickets which will be valid for 12 months from purchase, so the lucky recipient can go whenever it suits them!
Furthermore, you could give someone the opportunity to experience the thrill of hand feeding the Giant Pandas, helping the hippos with their daily mouth check or entering the Squirrel Monkey home to feed them

Adelaide Zoo Starting Hours and Parking
Adelaide Zoo is open from 10:30am – 5pm everyday, including Christmas and all public holidays.
Please note the opening times for the following areas:
- Panda Habitat 9:45am – 4:45pm
- Zoo Shop 9:30am – 5pm
- Panda Shop 10am-3:30pm
- Reptile House 10am – 4:00pm
- Nocturnal House 11am – 4:30pm
- Walk-through Rainforest & Wetlands Aviary 9:00am – 4:30pm
- Walk-through South East Asian Aviary is currently CLOSED for redevelopment
- Envirodome 10am – 4:30pm (4:45pm weekends and public holidays)
Parking
Visitors have access to a number of 4 and 10 hour parking spaces; Zoos SA recommends reviewing parking access through the Botanic Gardens
Nature’s Playground
Take a walk on the wild side and have fun with nature inspired play equipment suitable for all abilities.
However, the new play spaces is a wonderful environments where visitors of all ages can let their imaginations which runs wild, have fun, challenge themselves and explore the natural world.
Furthermore, The playground includes play equipment built on nature play principles that stimulate all the senses through climbing structures, water play features, a natural creek bed and aerial walkways. The precinct also has disability friendly toilets, a new parent’s room and an undercover function area suitable for birthday parties and other unique functions.
